 Welcome to Shanshal Chinese Cresteds and  Mexican Hairless (Xoloitzcuintle). We are Shannon and Sharon Roberts and we are encaptured by these wonderful breeds.

My mum (Sharon) was fascinated by the Chinese Crested when she was little but didn’t ever think she would be lucky enough to be owned by them, until the day we came across - as mum calls her - “the Crestie Lady” Chris Wheeler of Galchris, who has been very helpful in educating us in this breed and has now become a great friend.

After two and a half years of studying and researching the Chinese Crested we finally got our first one, Lacie. Since then our Crested family has grown.

We also own a Standard Mexican Hairless (Xoloitzcuintle). pronounced show-low-ee-squint-lee.

We became interested in this amazing breed about 3 1/2 years ago when we met Donna and Diva at Discover Dogs at Earls Court.  since then we have been researching and finding out about this ancient breed. we have since, met many wonderful people in the breed.

This is how Solana came into our lives. she is a daughter of Miss Diva and Mr Mango (owned by Gina). 

The Xoloitzcuintle is on the Import Register at the moment but we are all trying our very best to change this and get the breed fully recognised by the Kennel Club.

our aim is to promote, protect and preserve this great breed.

We show our Chinese Crested and Mexican Hairless (Xoloitzcuintle) at open and Championship show level in the Breed/Import classes and also Adult and YKC Handling classes.We currently have 1 Bitch with her Stud Book Number.

 

Shannon also Judges Junior and Adult Handling and and is on the Chinese Crested judging list C.


We are members and on the committee of The Chinese Crested Dog Club.

We are also members and on the committee of  The Mexican Hairless (Xoloitzcuintle) Club UK.

Shannon also enjoys writing the Mexican Hairless Breed Notes for DogWorld Newspaper.
